Unveiling Secrets
You drag your limbless sluglike form across the grated floor, inching your way towards the broken pod. In the dim green glow of nutrient fluid, it leans sideways in its housing. Its glass is webbed with fractures, fluid leaking in slow pulses. Inside floats a vessel — limp, head tilted, eyes dim. The fluid ripples faintly with your movements, scattering dust motes of metallic grit. A dull, yellowish bulb swells and contracts where its neck meets its torso: a bile sac, unruptured despite the vessel’s death.
