A Moonlit Meeting
Fiddle leaned forward, balancing with his strong leg-arms, and noticed a tiny glow bobbing above the reeds. A firefly hovered close, its light flickering like a friendly wink. Fiddle waved one of his foot-hands and the firefly drifted lower, curious about this unusual frog.
They spent a while listening to the night: the soft croak of frogs, the rustle of cattails, and the distant hoot of an owl. The firefly led Fiddle across the pond, showing safe paths between lily pads. Fiddle felt a warm flutter in his chest—friendship, gentle and bright.
