Dawn at Kalmar
A knock rouses you at first light. A page bows low: “The council convenes, my lord. The lords and clergy await your counsel.” You follow him through cold corridors, the stone walls sweating with sea mist.
In the council chamber, banners of three kingdoms hang behind long benches. Nobles sit stiff, clerics fold their hands, captains rest fingers on dagger pommels. Today, your knowledge and words will be weighed. Each faction will test you—not only your loyalty, but your grasp of the union itself.
